List Of Ghost Whisperer Season Three Espisode

The Underneath
After a near-death experience in which she speaks with her father, Melinda is determined to learn the truth about both him and her alleged brother. First, she turns to her mother, who refuses to speak about the past. Soon after, she encounters a ghost who was killed 25 years ago in a street cave-in caused by a gas explosion that ripped apart the town square. This ghost blames Melinda for the death of his wife, and when a confused Melinda investigates this in the town archives, she discovers that her mother was actually a resident of Grandview and was indeed at the site of the accident. Furious that her mother would keep this information from her, Melinda confronts her and discovers that while her mother was trying to help the newly dead man communicate with his wife right after the accident, a second explosion killed the wife. The whole experience was too much for Melinda's mom, who moved away and ignored her gift from then on. Melinda realizes that the ghost has confused herself for her mother, thus he holds Melinda responsible for his wife's death. Melinda helps the ghost understand that his wife's death was an accident, which allows him to reconnect with his grown daughter and cross over.

Don't Try This At Home
When a student at Rockland University falls into a coma under suspicious circumstances, a rumor quickly spreads that she was a victim of the "Bloody Mary" urban legend. This time around, Melinda is the skeptical one, doubting that the incident is related to the supernatural, but when a second student, a friend of the first, also ends up in a coma, Melinda isn't ruling anything out. After talking to friends of the comatose students and searching for information on the local variation of the myth, Melinda discovers that it is definitely not the ghost from the myth doing the damage, but rather the first--unknown--victim of Bloody Mary. A prank involving the Bloody Mary myth had literally scared a student with a dangerous heart defect to death, and as a result she comes back to take revenge on those she thinks are responsible for her death. Once Melinda is able to communicate with this elusive ghost, she explains what happened, helps the ghost cross over and brings the comatose students back to consciousness.

Haunted Hero
When Jim and Melinda's army friend, Matt, returns from Iraq as a wounded hero, it quickly becomes obvious that he's returned with spirits attached to him. Initially, Melinda isn't sure who these spirits are, but she soon learns that they are his fallen comrades, men in Matt's squad killed in the same ambush in which he was wounded. Because there was so much confusion during the ambush, Matt feels that he may have abandoned his men, and when a video of the incident surfaces and opens an investigation, it appears to confirm that Matt did indeed desert them. However, once Melinda is able to communicate with Matt's men, she learns that they've attached themselves to him to ensure that the truth is told: that Matt went on a suicide mission to distract the insurgents so his men could escape. Matt's plan worked, but when his men went to move, they accidentally ignited an IED, leaving Matt as the sole survivor. Once they're able to share their story with Matt and help close the investigation, the dead soldiers cross over.

No Safe Place
Melinda encounters a man, Shane, who is haunted by the ghost of Colleen, who he claims stalked him when she was alive. However, Melinda quickly discovers that the stalker was actually Shane, and he had made Colleen's life a living hell. Colleen has attached herself to Shane in hopes of putting him through the same misery she suffered before she died. As Melinda gets involved in an attempt to help Colleen cross over, Shane becomes obsessed with Melinda and begins stalking her. Hampered by vague stalking laws and restrictions, the authorities can't do much to help Melinda, so she and Colleen hatch a plan to get Shane out of their lives. They are able to collect proof that Shane was stalking Colleen, and they anonymously distribute it to all his friends and colleagues, outing him for the evil person he is. This helps Colleen cross over, but the humiliation is too much for Shane to take. He kills himself to reach Melinda as only a dead man can, but when his ghost contacts her, he is pulled underground by a mysterious force.

Weight Of What Was
Gabriel makes contact with Melinda for the first time since her near-death experience. Still angry and confused over his role in her accident, Melinda doesn’t want anything to do with him, but he claims that he is her brother, and he needs her help in finding their father. Skeptical of Gabriel’s motives, Melinda is unwilling to take any of this on faith, but she does accept a package of family keepsakes. After inspecting the keepsakes, Melinda is visited by a ghost, Tessa, who was killed 150 years ago after being accused of performing witchcraft that led to the deaths of many people in a church fire. Melinda investigates further in the town archives and discovers that part of the town had been buried to erase this dark piece of history. She then finds a door hidden in the archives leading to a series of tunnels that guide her through the buried town under Grandview to the church where all the deaths took place. At the church, Melinda sets the record straight: a disease killed the people, not Tessa’s ability to see ghosts and foresee the deadly outcome, which the town believed was witchcraft. Before Melinda can get Tessa to cross over, a very dark and powerful spirit appears, forcing Melinda to flee. On her way out, the tunnel collapses, trapping her in a small air pocket. While Melinda struggles to get free, her father and Tessa appear, and her father explains that Tessa is actually Melinda's great-great-great-grandmother, and that Melinda needs to understand the extreme forces that exist in Grandview. Meanwhile, Jim, Delia and Payne frantically search for Melinda, and just as she is about to run out of air, Jim breaks through and saves her.

Double Exposure
Melinda works to discover the identity of a ghost haunting Claudia, a photography professor. Initially, she believes the ghost to be Kevin, Claudia's former student, who had died in a car accident. After further investigation, Melinda learns that Claudia had an affair with Kevin. His girlfriend, Sophie, discovered the affair and tried to drown herself. Kevin learned of Sophie's suicide attempt from a video she sent him moments before she supposedly drowned. This leads Melinda to believe that Sophie's spirit is seeking revenge on the woman who had stolen her man. However, Melinda then discovers that Sophie is still alive and that Kevin is the ghost haunting Claudia. After he saw Sophie's video, Kevin raced to the beach to try and save her and ended up in a horrible car accident. Not knowing that Sophie was alive, Kevin then tormented Claudia, who he blamed for Sophie's "death" because of their affair. Once Melinda is finally able to get Sophie, Claudia and Kevin’s spirit together to sort out their love triangle, Kevin is able to cross over.

Unhappy Medium
Famous author and medium Casey Edgars comes to Grandview to help a family, the Drakes, find their missing daughter, Sydney. Melinda meets Casey and immediately pegs him as a fraud when he fails to notice a mysterious spirit attached to him. Casey insists he is led by spirit guides and assures the Drakes that Sydney is alive. However, Melinda discovers that the mysterious ghost is actually Sydney, who demands that Melinda get Casey to tell the Drakes the truth, that she is actually dead. When Melinda passes this information on to Casey, he refuses to believe her. For each to prove what they believe to be true, the two decide to work together to discover the real truth, and they collaborate to find Sydney's dead body in a remote part of the woods. Now involved in a murder investigation, the pair continue to investigate, and eventually they discover that Sydney had been suffering form a drug addiction. Sydney's sister, Nikki, and her boyfriend had tried to break her addiction by kidnapping her and forcing her to go cold turkey against her will. Unfortunately, Sydney escaped from the remote cabin where she was being held and got lost in the woods, where she died. At Sydney's request, Melinda and Casey pass this on to the Drakes, and when she's sure that Nikki won't be blamed for her death, Sydney crosses over.

Bad Blood
When Delia sells a haunted house to a father and daughter, Steve and Marlo, Melinda must determine who is haunting the house and why. At first, Melinda thinks it must be Liz, Steve's wife and Marlo's mother, who had died in a fall from a cliff while hiking. Steve had a chance to save Liz, but Marlo slipped and Steve had to save her instead, leaving Liz to fall to her death. This left both Steve and Marlo feeling very guilty, and once they moved into their new house, Steve and Marlo begin acting strangely and aggressively toward each other. Payne and Melinda discover that the house is haunted by Vivian and Matt, who are using Steve and Marlo's guilt to oppress them, forcing them to reenact the sick game of betrayal, guilt and paranoia that took over their own lives and ultimately led to their death. Now just pawns in Vivian and Matt's game, Steve and Marlo try to harm each other, but Melinda is able to get them out of the house and break the spell before it is too late. Once out of the house, Steve and Marlo are visited by Liz, who assures them they should not blame themselves for her death and that they both did what they had to do. Once their guilt is gone, Liz is able to cross over, and Steve and Marlo move on.

All Ghosts Leads To Grandview
Melinda becomes a mentor for a young girl, Becca, who shares her ability to see ghosts. Melinda and Jim discover Becca living alone in the woods and go on to find out that she ran away from home, traveling over a thousand miles by bus, until she was compelled to stop near Grandview. They contact her grateful parents, who catch the next flight out to pick her up. This allows little time for Melinda to help Becca understand her “gift” and help cross over Daniel, a young boy who has been haunting her and needs her help finding his dead parents. Ultimately, Melinda helps Becca overcome her fear and cross over Daniel and his parents. However, she then discovers that Gabriel has been using the ghosts as pawns to lead other ghost whisperers to Grandview so that he can recruit them to his side.

Holiday Spirits
Melinda attempts to cross over a ghost who is convinced he is Santa Claus and who is haunting a workaholic father. The overworked man, William Taylor, recently discovered that he may not be the biological father of his son, Riley. William had been abandoned by his own father, and has been keeping Riley at arms length pending paternity test results. After researching several dead-end theories, Melinda discovers that the Santa ghost is actually William’s father, Alan. Alan was a successful entrepreneur until he had a nervous breakdown and gave everything away to kids, ala Santa Claus. Alan had always regretted abandoning William, and after explaining how he can break the cycle, William heeds Alan’s advice and never looks at the paternity test results. He fully accepts Riley as his own. In the end, Alan chooses not to cross over, but to continue to do good deeds as a Santa ghost.

Slam
Melinda and Ned work together to cross over the ghost of a student at Ned’s school. The ghost, Travis is trying to protect his sister, Lucy, from beyond the grave. Lucy, who is gay, had been involved in a complicated love triangle with Brad and Krista, the most popular couple in school. Before Travis' death, Lucy and Krista had been exchanging anonymous intimate emails, and he was scared that if the school discovered Lucy was gay it would ruin her life. When Lucy received an email saying it was time for her and Krista to meet, Travis made Lucy let him meet with Krista to end the whole thing. However, Brad showed up instead, trying to save his own relationship, while Travis assumed it was all a prank set up to out Lucy. Travis attacked Brad, who restrained him and accidentally slammed his head into a wall. The injury led to his death. While Brad had no idea who he would be meeting, Travis’s ghost still thought it was all a prank and terrorized Brad and Krista at school. He inadvertently makes life difficult for Lucy, who is blamed for his “pranks.” When Melinda is able to get Travis to communicate with his family, he crosses over after realizing that his death was an accident. He also discovers that Lucy doesn't need to be protected from being gay, but that she needs to be supported in her lifestyle.

First Do No Harm
Jim must make a split second decision while trying to rescue two men from a burning building, and is forced to leave one of the men to die as the building collapses. Though there was nothing he could have done to save the man, Jim feels the death was his fault, and thinks the ghost is haunting him. Meanwhile, Melinda starts to communicate with the ghost of the man Jim tried to save, only to find out that it’s a different ghost altogether. Jim’s "ghost" has already crossed over. Melinda learns that the ghost, who appears to be in his thirties, is haunting a nurse, Jessica, at the hospital where he claims she murdered him. After further investigation and communication with the ghost, Melinda discovers that the nurse had indeed ended the man’s life. It turns out that the ghost was actually an old man with end stage Alzheimer’s, who had become like a father to Jessica. He was in such pain that he’d begged her to end his life when he could no longer deal with it. Once dead, his ghost was confused and took his younger form. Once Melinda gets them to communicate they both come clean and the ghost is able to cross over.

Home But Not Alone
Ned thinks his girlfriend, Lisa, might be haunted by her overprotective dead father, and asks Melinda to help her. Melinda discovers that Lisa, and her sister and brother, are actually being haunted by their overprotective mother, who before she died of cancer, instructed her minor children to not tell anyone about her death. She told them they would be split up as a family by social services if her death was discovered, so they hid it from the town.

The Gravesitter
When blogger Justin Yates is discovered to be vandalizing Melinda’s shop, Melinda starts to investigate Justin and his bizarre behavior. At one point in their complicated history Justin had threatened to expose her work with ghosts on his blog, but decided that he would keep quiet if she would one day return the favor. Now that he is acting out against her, Melinda is scared that Justin may have changed his mind. Melinda confronts him about the vandalism and discovers that he is suffering from a brain aneurism that could kill him at anytime. She also finds out that Justin had been involved with a girl, Julie, who had died years before when their boat capsized. Justin had had a potential opportunity to save her, but was uncertain if he could make it, so he decided to save himself. Justin deeply regrets this, and tells Melinda that he wants her help finding Julie after he dies, so he can make things right. However, when Justin does die Julie appears to him, and convinces him to come with her toward the dark side, underground in old Grandview. It turns out that Julie had caused the boat accident in order to try and collect an insurance settlement, and had just been using Justin so she could pin the whole accident on him. Melinda must convince Justin that Julie is evil and get him to cross over in to the light.

Horror Show
Professor Payne asks Melinda to set up a family friend, Kylie Sloan, with a job, as she’s been struggling to pay her way at Rockland University since losing some scholarships. Payne thinks she’s been having problems at school because she’s haunted, which is another reason he wants Kylie and Melinda to work together. They quickly learn that she is indeed haunted, and they initially suspect the ghost is her brilliant, scholarly father. That theory gives way when they discover that Kylie is being haunted in a similar fashion to several horror movies, making them think the ghost is a horror film fan. They later find out that Kylie was actually working on a horror film with a young man, Toby Bates, who had died while setting up a scene for their movie. Kylie had missed that day of filming and blamed herself for his death, but Toby’s ghost didn’t feel that way at all. All he wanted was for her to finish the film they were working on, and to follow her passion for horror movies.

Deadbeat Dad
Professor Payne reunites with his ex-girlfriend, Nina, who is presumably in Grandview on business. After they go out, Payne is surprised to discover that Nina has a brilliant young son, Elliot. After some quick math, Payne deduces that the boy may actually be his son, a theory that Nina quickly confirms. She tells him she never knew how to tell him about Elliot, but now she needs his financial help to get Elliot in to a school for the gifted. Melinda, feeling something isn’t quite right, does some sleuthing and discovers that Elliot is not Payne’s son, and demands that Nina tell Payne the truth. Busted, Nina comes clean, but insists that the money really is for Elliot’s education. Throughout all of this, Payne’s dead wife, Kate, comes back to haunt him, demanding that they address their unfinished business so she can finally cross over. Ultimately, Payne forgives his wife for cheating on him in life, she forgives him for putting off having a child, and he decides to help Elliot with school, despite Nina’s deception.

Strangehole
Melinda finally reunites with her father, Tom Gordon, after a long search and under suspicious circumstances. While searching for him she discovered he was a prosecutor in Grandview before he disappeared, and a spirit led her to a case he had prosecuted that involved the murder of a young boy, Michael. Tom had convicted the man who found the body, Paul Eastman, of the murder, sending him to prison where he escaped during a fire. However, before finding out that her father was in town, Melinda, led by clues left by the mysterious spirit, had approached Michael’s family hoping to get information from them about her dad. When she met with Michael’s mother she discovered that his ghost was still living with her, and that she was well aware of it. Melinda tries to convince Michael to go in to the light, but Mother and son are happy with the way things are. Melinda then discovers that Michael wasn’t murdered at all, that he had died after falling from a tree. After confronting Michael about it, he tells Melinda that Paul had found his body because Paul was also a ghost whisperer. Michael had told him where to search, and because of that Paul went to prison an innocent man. Knowing her father has been on the run for a long time, Melinda then assumes that he was running from Paul, who was hunting him to seek revenge. After getting Michael to cross over, Melinda rushes to find her father to warn him about Paul, but when she gets to his hotel it appears that she's too late. To be continued...

Pater FamiliasContinued from the previous episode, Melinda bursts in to Tom Gordon’s hotel room, where it appears that he has attempted to take his own life. Tom is rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but survives. Melinda, still working under the assumption that Paul Eastman is seeking revenge for being wrongly convicted of murder, figures that Tom had been possessed by Paul during the suicide attempt. However, when she confronts Paul and asks him to leave Tom alone, Paul leads Melinda to his own body, which is buried in the house Melinda grew up in. This leads to even more questions about Tom’s involvement with Paul and as Melinda peels away the layers of lies Tom has told her she finally learns the horrible truth. It turns out that Melinda’s mother had been madly in love and engaged to Paul when he was accused of murder, which was how she met Tom. After Paul was convicted, she explained to Tom that she and Paul could see ghosts, and that’s how he had found the little boys body. Tom, who turns out to be a total sociopath, promised to help get Paul out of prison, but secretly did nothing to help Paul so he could endear himself to Melinda’s mother and eventually marry her. When Paul finally escaped and confronted Tom at his house, Tom killed him and buried him in his basement. Topping it all off, Melinda discovers that Tom isn't even her father, but that Paul Eastman is.
